Phoenix, AZ August, 2009 – Adding to its string of innovative fashion industry events, Phoenix Fashion Week in conjunction with Fashion Business Incorporated, will be continuing Apparel for Success – “The Workshop” on October 24, 2009 at the Hotel Valley Ho. Apparel for Success is a comprehensive fashion industry seminar series, aimed at educating burgeoning fashion business leaders, designers, retailers, design students and anyone interested in launching or growing a fashion business.
Apparel for Success will feature fashion industry experts: Frances Harder – Founder of Fashion Business Inc. and author of “Fashion for Profit.” “In times like these if you have a creative idea and you are willing to work smart and hard, your opportunities will be unlimited,” says Ms. Harder. Dana Fried – Managing Partner of Delphic Consulting Group, says “This apparel workshop will prepare you to work smart in a very competitive industry.” The workshop will be moderated by Brian Hill – Executive Director of Phoenix Fashion Week.
The one-day (8 hour) workshop will delve into core fashion business basics such as: transforming creative ideas into a legitimate business, appropriate licensing, legalities in business set-up, determining funding and financing needs by creating a sound and practical business plan. This workshop will also show how to get samples made, how to find the right manufacturer and protecting intellectual property. Other topics include how to determine pricing, while ensuring profitability and finally covering the facts about trade shows and their benefits. Attendees will also gain knowledge on sales, marketing, branding, maintaining cash flow during tough economic times, and appropriate budget allocation to ensure successful growth for any fashion business.
