Simply Spring

I don’t know about you all, but it’s definitely feeling like spring here in Phoenix.

Sure we had some rain last week and there’s a couple clouds in our forecast to wrap up February, but after New York Fashion Week and the recent exposure of my favorite designer’s look-books it’s definitely time for spring. This spring, they’re switching the styles up on us.

Last spring we were piling on colorful layers, pairing pattern with pattern. Spring 2012 will bring us back to simplicity. No patterns. Less colors. All solid linens, silks and satins. And one bright piece to tie the fashion knot.

Take a look at these gorgeous looks from Gucci’s Spring 2012 “Ready to Wear” look book.

Each look sports solid colors, straight lines and a pop of bright personality. Also, you’ll see the lines are squared and parallel in these lightweight looks.

If you’re looking for a less expensive option, H&M’s Spring looks just came out too. I’m especially drawn to this simple beige, satin blouse with the engaging orange skirt.

They also carry below the belt pieces in brilliant reds, shocking teals and more—all great for spring and ones that will lie great under a solid, breezy top like the one above.

Our manicured feet also get to relax this spring in simple minded shoes. Check out these gorgeous ones from Prada’s Spring Summer 2012 Print Campaign.

The best thing about simplicity this spring? Basic, feminine, solid colors never go out of style. Trends like these always make me smile because I know my investments will be used for years to come (and I also don’t have to buy a bunch of new stuff!).

One more tip: pick up a couple metallic gold pieces for night wear.

So rummage through your closet and figure out what you need. Then hop on over to Fashion Square or Scottsdale Quarter and invest in some gorgeous looks to love this spring.

When you get back from shopping, upload your pics on our Facebook wall or Tweet us @phxfashionweek where you found the best styles!

*We love feedback! Comment on the blog and tell us about your favorite colors this spring!*
