PHXFW Announces the Official 2012 Established Designer Lineup

After the exciting announcement of Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort’s official Emerging Designer lineup, the Official Phoenix Fashion Week Established Designer lineup promises to be just as impressive. The 14 established designers at Phoenix Fashion Week are: Kent Denim, Mabella Chic, Davinci, Café Bleu, Mariska, JOI by Jewel Oribe, Madison Park Collective, Jean Paul Jeune, Silvia Bours, SJ Couture, Bel Kazan, Enzoani, Elevee and Furne One.

THURSDAY October 4th

Kent Denim

This brand is a full menswear collection with its core product revolving around denim, featuring uniquely delicious concepts in fashion that are bold, creative, original and unconventional. Based out of Los Angeles, designer and founder Noah Landis started the collection a few years ago to pursue his passion for making quality jeans, featuring a lot of vintage washing and distressing to give them truly authentic looking details.

“The Kent Denim Man is any guy who wants more from their jeans.  It’s not just for fashionable guys but men who want a quality pair of jeans that they can wear for years.  The Kent client is an adventurer, a beat nick, a rocker, a surfer, etc, not limited by boundaries, that is the spirit of jeans,” Landis said.

Mabella Chic

Former PHXFW Emerging Designer, Mabel of Mabella Chic created this clothing line to inspire women to feel confident and walk with a purpose by expressing whom they really are. At fashion week on Thursday, guests should expect to see a collection designed for women that are constantly on the go and enjoy the social life. The bright vibrant colors and fun fabrics will make a woman feel good and sexy.

“Being an emerging designer for Phoenix Fashion week in 2011 and returning as an established designer for the 8th Annual means Mabella Chic brand is here to stay!”


This “NEW VINTAGE” Collection is aimed at a current, hipster customer looking for vintage looks and retro cuts. Based out of Los Angeles, Da Vinci was originally started in 1952 in California and was one of the first brands to use celebrities for product placement, including Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Most recently, Da Vinci was seen on Charlie Sheen on Two and Half Men. If you are someone who expresses your personality through your clothing and loves vintage-inspired menswear, Da Vinci is a great brand to check out during fashion week!

“We felt Phoenix Fashion Week would be a perfect opportunity to launch the “Da Vinci – New Vintage Collection” and were thrilled to have been invited to do just that,” said designer Lena Hermansson.

Cafe Bleu

Created by industry veterans Vince Gonzales and Hayrettin Belli of Vizon Textiles, the brand quickly found its niche within the men’s designer shirt market. Cafebleu gives men an impeccably designed quality garment available in an array of colors to express their own style through fabrics that fit their body and lifestyle. Cafebleu focuses on design. The patterns, color combinations and stitch details create a collection that can continuously be added to your wardrobe for a little sugar that will never scorch your pocket book.

Maria Janossy, a Transylvanian transplant and lawyer-turned-fashion designer of the Mariska brand, has created a high-end contemporary women’s line made in downtown Los Angeles.

Mariska is inspired by the fashion of past decades, made relevant to the modern woman. Classic blazers are reinvented for the 21st century, tailored pants and jackets reveal unexpected details, tops and dresses complement one’s curves – these are timeless pieces that are mixable and matchable, cool and refined, functional and versatile.

“This will be our third Phoenix Fashion Week show. We loved our first show, and the second one exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to see what the organizers have done this time around!” Janossy said. Don’t miss the Mariska finale show on Thursday!

FRIDAY October 5th

JOI by Jewel Oribe

Another Los Angeles based fashion line, JOI by Jewel Oribe is designed to encourage the philosophy of living life to the fullest and expressing one’s unique individuality. As designer Shiho Oribe explains JOI by Jewel Oribe as a collection of chic urban designs. Influenced by the trendy daily wear in the streets of LA, the line is easy and cool for an it-girl personality. With her background in Los Angeles and Japanese fashion, her lines are inspired by light elements from the two origins.  The clothing merges lifestyle trends of both areas into a single design, creating a cool everyday look.

“Phoenix Fashion Week is not only a way for me to represent my line, but allows me to find inspiration and personalities to design my future pieces,” Oribe said.

Madison Park Collective

Madison Park Collective is individuality re-introduced. A highly diverse collection of fine garments, with a raw sophistication and a focused edge. 

Since its launch in November 2010, Madisonpark Collective has had a vision of bringing vintage American inspired garments to the modern day world.  Madisonpark’s Designer Trey Alligood III, began his career in fashion nine years ago and has garnered significant attention in the fashion industry. Madisonpark Collective can be found at Ron Herman, Atrium NYC, Bloomingdales,  Saks, Nordstrom and several other stores across the U.S. and you will have the opportunity to see it live on the runway this Friday!

 Jean Paul Jeune

This dapper, sophisticated menswear fashion brand is not only a local line, based in Phoenix, AZ, but they also will be returning to Phoenix Fashion Week again as an Established Designer. Designer Rez Ghayour believes “colors and designs are the hobbies of fashion but its job is to cover our bodies.”

Silvia Bours

Last year’s PHXFW Emerging Designer crowd favorite, Silvia Bours looks to add some drama to the runway this year when she debuts her newest collection on Friday as an Established Designer! Based out of Sonora. Mexico, the line features one-of-a-kind pieces of art that are theatrical and sweet, but always feminine.

Chosen as’s featured designer on last year’s Holiday iPad app, Bours promises a glitzy collection that will surely create a blogging frenzy and media buzz.

Silvia Bours will be the finale show on Friday evening at Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick Resort.  

SATURDAY October 6th

SJ Couture

Designer Jeanne Hankerson began SJ Couture in 2009 and creates original high-quality wedding gowns for today’s woman. Based out of Phoenix, Hankerson was actually the Emerging Designer of the Year in 2010 and has been building a successful brand ever since. “After winning emerging designer in 2010, it seemed a natural fit to continue on the established runway, and this will be our second appearance as an established designer.”

Hankerson takes inspiration from her dreams, the past, as inspiration can strike at any time. Look for her swoon-inducing garments on the runway Saturday evening!

Bel Kazan

This Los Angeles-based designer will feature a collection with original prints drawing inspiration from the colors and patterns of nature and from traditional Balinese textiles. Designer Bel Kazan infused each piece with the artisanal heritage of Bali, with each garment hand printed and screened. 

“My signature jersey is loved for its buttery feel and coveted styles: It’s universally flattering, elegant, versatile and comfortable. BEL KAZAN gives back to the culture and people that give it its beauty via living wages, flexible work environments and open- air factories.” Kazan said. Look for this inspiring designer on the runway this Saturday!
