Silvia Bours’ Success Story Featured at FGI Trend Report

With the fall fashion shows behind us and most of you only seeing online videos or recaps, you may be wondering what’s really in store for you (pun intended) once the summer heat cools down. Look no further than the Fashion Group International (FGI) -Arizona Chapter‘s annual Fall Trend Report, featuring the best fall ready-to-wear trends, straight from the runways of the world’s fashion capitals, including New York City and Paris!

Phoenix Fashion Week is thrilled to be an official sponsor of this event and Executive Director Brian Hill feels this event will assist in further providing exposure for emerging designers. “Phoenix Fashion Week is proud to partner with the leading fashion trade organization in the world, FGI.  In working with Tracy Rasinski and the Arizona chapter, it is a total win-win for us in supporting an amazing emerging designer like Silvia Bours.  Now, the great work that we do with up and coming designers will reach a new audience,” Hill said. FGI-Arizona Regional Director, Tracy Rasinski, also felt this partnership with PHXFW was a no-brainer. “Partnerships like FGI’s with PHXFW raises awareness for local talent and fashion businesses within the Arizona community. While FGI is an international organization, we strive to support local business and events whenever possible,” Rasinski said. Hosted this Thursday evening at the Biltmore Fashion Park, it will commence with a fabulous pre-party held in the Shoe Department (where else?!)  of Saks 5th Avenue! Enjoy light refreshments and raffle prizes before ending at the Cosmetics Department to hear about the latest beauty trends and special guest Susan L. Berman, President and CEO of Fresh Start will educate everyone on her amazing organization! Attendees are also encouraged to bring in an item for the Fresh Start Self-Esteem Room, such as gently used, interview appropriate clothing and accessories.

Finally, the rest of the evening will be held on the center lawn of the beautiful Biltmore, where attendees can take in the Fall 2012 Ready-to-Wear Trend report on the big screen. What’s more, we are thrilled to announce that PHXFW’s own 2011 Emerging Designer, Silvia Bours of Mexico, will be the featured guest of the evening, speaking about her designs, trends and of course, success with Phoenix Fashion Week! “I learned so much during my time at PHXFW last year and am looking forward to telling my story, as well as sharing tips for other emerging designers!” Bours said. Even Consul Luis Castaneda of the Mexican Consulate, an avid supporter of Mexican culture and fashion, will be in attendance!  “Phoenix Fashion Week is a great concept that is an opportunity to highlight the strength that lies in cultural diversity.  It serves as an outstanding platform for Mexican designers to be introduced to the world as part of an interconnected region,” said Victor M. Treviño, Consul General of Mexico.

FGI clearly recognizes the importance of local talent and is thrilled to be featuring Bours’ success story. “Including Silvia Bours in our trend event allows us to highlight a local design success, which will hopefully inspire other talented designers to follow their dreams in fashion. Phoenix Fashion Week has been a great asset in helping to educate the local fashion community on the different levels of running a successful fashion business,” Rasinski said. This event is not to be missed and will surely curate a diverse crowd of local tastemakers, fashionistas, and bloggers alike!
