Gain Industry Expert Tips at the ‘Business of Fashion’ Workshop Series

With the immense success each year of Phoenix Fashion Week’s educational seminars in the fall, it seemed only fitting to hold another round leading into the spring season. Whether you are a student, fashion blogger or emerging designer practicing your craft, our ‘Business of Fashion’ workshop series is sure to provide you key insight from respected industry experts, as well as important takeaways to utilize once you get home. PHXFW Executive Director Brian Hill feels these workshops are not only beneficial to in supporting local talent, but the fashion community at large. “This was a perfect time to launch our independent workshops, right around our spring into style series, MIM Rocks Fashion, showcasing a top stylist in the city, Jill Laine and top West Coast social media expert, Ron Cates of Constant Contact. It furthers one of our major pillars, education…to be successful, you have to be educated and build your knowledge, and that’s what we are giving the fashion community through these workshops,” Hill said. Phoenix Fashion Week’s own Education Director, Liz Riley, couldn’t agree more and feels these workshops are crucial to one’s success in the fashion industry. “Finding success in Fashion today depends largely on your ability to be ‘au courant’ or ‘of the moment’. This is true in styling as well as business. Fashion is a constantly evolving industry. The workshops presented by Phoenix Fashion Week offer you the opportunity to gain insight, get tips, and ask questions, of presenters Jill Laine and Ron Cates, who have found success in their areas of expertise. Styling and Social Media makes fashion take off and fly!” Riley said.

Following the fabulous MIM Rocks Fashion event this Thursday, make sure to pencil in these two amazing workshops on Saturday, featuring styling and fashionable social media topics.
