Valentine’s Day: Wear the Look of Love

‘Tis the season of love—and cheesy clichés. Valentine’s Day is here and just in case you don’t have that picture perfect outfit already planned out, Phoenix Fashion Week has your back. We’ve put together a few outfit ideas that are sure to have everyone around you swooning and Aphrodite green with envy.

Effortlessly Yours

Going to dinner with your honey? Instead of the LBD, try a red number that accentuates all the right parts, similar to this one. Because you’ll be the apple of his eye, keep the rest of your look toned down with brown eye shadow, simple gold accessories, and a classic, infallible nude peep-toe pump. Top it off with small pops of color, like a contrasting teal clutch and light-pink lipstick. He’ll have no choice but to be drooling over how ravishing you look.

Fool in Love

If you happen to be doing something a little more casual, like taking a lovers’ stroll through the park, you can still let the fashionista in you shine. Pair a light blouse with a wine-colored maxi skirt, and throw on your favorite pair of sandals. A couple bangles and a charm bracelet will look darling on your arm when it’s intertwined with his.

Color My Heart

Are you a little more on the daring side? If you’re up to it, Valentine’s Day is great opportunity to try out colorblocking, a trend that is here to stay a little longer thanks to BCBG Max Azria’s looks on the New York Fashion Week catwalk last week. Let black skinnies be your canvas and be bold with holiday signature pink and reds, and show Cupid who’s in charge with a bright yellow envelope wristlet like this one from Tory Burch. Avoid heavy makeup—because looking like Rainbow Brite is a don’t—and go for a sheer lip gloss instead.

Regardless of the outfit you don today, your confidence will be the most important element of your look.  We at PHXFW are sure that all eyes—not just your beau’s—will be on you.
