Tis’ the Season to Give Back with PHXFW’s 3rd Annual Holiday Event

This year, join Phoenix Fashion Week for our 3rd annual ‘Fashion Gives Back’ holiday event, hosted by  The Mint Ultra Lounge in Old Town Scottsdale. With the holidays rapidly approaching, Phoenix Fashion Week will celebrate in style while staying true to one of their most important pillars, Humanity.  PHXFW already has a great relationship with AZ Helping Hands, an organization that assists underprivileged and struggling families by means of mentoring, healthcare, nutritional assistance, holiday and emergency programs, so it was a no-brainer to provide support to them again this year. “The Mint is proud to be a part of Fashion Gives Back, in collaboration with Phoenix Fashion Week, to spread awareness using fashion as a conduit, collect much-needed donations, and encouraging people to get involved in the community. It’s important to take time to enliven the spirits of families all over the Valley this season, and continue to assist them throughout the year as well. We hope this event will resonate with those that attend, help families in need and make an impact on our city. ” said Riley Kissee, Publicist at MMPR Marketing.  There are many ways you can give back during this event, whether it’s a monetary donation or gently used apparel and clothing. All donations will be collected at the end of the night and given to AZ Helping Hands for their holiday initiatives to assist needy families in the valley.  “Arizona Helping Hands has the unique ability to help children and their families in times of crisis, but can offer sustainable programs for food, healthcare and clothing in need to the most fragile of our society.  Through volunteer-based services, we assist underprivileged and struggling families by means of mentoring, healthcare, nutritional, holiday and emergency programs. We strive to improve the quality of life in Arizona by making a difference one child, one dream, and one family at a time. Most importantly, ninety-five cents of every dollar we receive goes to help the families we serve,” said Angie VanDaele, member of the Board of Directors of Arizona Helping Hands, Inc.

Phoenix Fashion Week and Executive Director Brian Hill will also be working with fashion designers and retailers to collect back stock merchandise and past-season samples that will be donated directly to needy families. “Not only are we reaching out to the community to donate clothes, gift cards and toys for this cause, but we are taking it a step further this year by also asking fashion designers and retailers, to donate excess apparel from their stores and studios for kids and parents that wouldn’t otherwise be receiving new, warm clothes this holiday season,” Hill said.

What’s more, PHXFW is happy to announce a laundry list of local celebrities and VIPs that will be out supporting this great cause. Expect to see such names as Mexico’s Next Top Model Judge Jo Lance, Arizona Cardinal Calais Campbell, Miss Arizona 2011 Jennifer Sedler, GoDaddy Girl Leeann Dearing, 3TV’s Brittney Shipp, Fox 10’s Kristin Anderson, NFL Hall of Famer Nick Lowery, 101.5 Jamz DJ Jackie Morales and more! Make sure to dress up in your sparkly holiday best, as the night will be complete with a green carpet entrance beginning at 7pm, along with loads of photographers to snap your best side. Later in the evening, 944’s “Best Artist 2011,” Jasmine Hormez , will perform classic holiday songs, while you can sip signature cocktails at The Mint bar and mingle with fashion industry professionals.
