Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Recap

Angels were really out in full swing at the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on this past Tuesday, Nov. 29!

The lingerie show, which aired on CBS, pulled in one of its highest ratings ever, with 10.3 million viewers tuning in to see some of the world’s most beautiful models hit the catwalk, along with mega-hit performances from Kanye West and Jay-Z, Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj!

The show opened with a fairy and ballet inspired segment featuring multiple ballet dancers performing to band The Pretty Reckless’ single “Make Me Wanna Die” and really kicked it up when Kanye West took the stage to perform his hit song “Stronger,” as the Angels strutted down the runway in fun and sassy superhero themed designs

The “passion” section of the show featured model Alessandra Ambrosio in her 10th Victoria’s Secret show appearance, walking in a beautifully intricate outfit paired with authentic gold laced wings, sparkling with Swarovski crystals.

Maroon 5 headlined the “aquatic” section with a live rendition of popular radio hit “Moves Like Jagger,” featuring model Miranda Kerr taking the runway in the buzzed about $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure Bra, as supportive hubby Orlando Bloom stood front row and cheered.

Lead singer Adam Levine also accompanied model girlfriend Anna Vyalitsyna down the runway and planted a quick kiss on her cheek during the band’s performance.

One of the most visually striking sections of the night was the “Victoriana” sequence, featuring old New Orlean’s inspired designs with no shortage of lace glitter and parasols.

As a special treat, Kanye West came back out with Jay-Z for a performance of a song off their Watch the Throne tour that brought the whole audience to its feet.

Finally, Nicki Minaj took the Victoria’s Secret PINK Club section to the next level with a very funky upbeat rendition of her song “Superbass,” while the models rocked the runway in the store’s fun PINK collections featuring lots of bright colors and neon lights.

The star studded event totaled nearly $12 million dollars to put on, according to the Hollywood Reporter and combined over 36 models in around 69 total looks for one truly spectacular night!

If you missed the show, don’t worry. You can catch all the glittery extravagance when it re-airs Dec.14 at 9/8 c on the CW!
