Weekend Style: What To Wear

Phoenix Fashion Week Media Team is excited to announce our new blog series, ‘Weekend Style: What to Wear”, where we ask talented local designers and boutiques for their best outfit picks to inspire your fashion ensembles each weekend! We will have a different post every Friday, featuring looks for both men and women, from casual to eveningwear outfits, to inspire you no matter where you are going! If you are a local boutique owner or designer interested in being featured in our next edition, email lauren@phoenixfashionweek.com.

This week’s outfit inspirations were provided by local vintage shop and a fashionista favorite, Butter Toast Boutique, located in the Roosevelt Arts District. Started in 2008, this shop is co-owned by fashion forward ladies, Traci Nelson and Jasmine Jarrett and carries a unique variety of hand-picked vintage items, including styles for men and women, baby clothes, shoes, accessories, jewelry, housewares and more! You can find a variety of looks from the late 1940’s- 1980’s, and they also recently expanded to include clothing and jewelry from select local designers. With the cooler temps finally coming our way, there is no better time to begin planning your weekend looks. This week, it’s all about layering for an effortless chic look.

This outfit has a youthful, hip vibe, featuring the vintage, wool, plaid maxi skirt as the statement piece. Pair it with a slouchy cropped t-shirt, vintage wide brim hat and oxford flats. Transition effortlessly from day to night by throwing on a black leather jacket for some added edge.

This is a staple outfit for any man’s wardrobe, as it can be dressed up or down with ease throughout the day. Pair a vintagedenim western shirt with a unique beaded necklace, dark wash denim and vintage ankle boots.

This evokes a 1970’s style, effortless boho chic and totally on trend leading into fall. Pair a vibrant oversized sweater with high waist flared jeans, along with a vintage bolo tie, boho hat and wedges to finish off the look.

This look is not only comfortable, but effortlessly chic, whether you are hitting up your favorite coffee shop or pursuing through Downtown Phoenix. Pair this vintage cable knit sweater with a plush, extra long, scarf, along with basic dark wash jeans and a pair of Converse sneakers.

Thanks Traci and Jasmine! For more information and updates, “Like” the Butter Toast Boutique Facebook page and Follow them on Twitter!
